Don Daughenbaugh Book Signing

Don Daughenbaugh is having a book-signing Saturday November 5, 2022 from noon to 3 P.M. at Faith United Methodist Church (700 Fairview Dr, Montoursville, PA 17754). Please come out and see Don, or meet him if you never have, and pick up a copy of his book. You may even be lucky enough to hear a story or two from Don.

Writer, naturalist, biologist, photographer, river guide, park ranger, trap shooter, teacher, fly-tyer, coach, casting instructor, raconteur, in a word… DON DAUGHENBAUGH. Great People, Great Rivers is the collected wild life of Don Daughenbaugh: a historic view of people and places, intimate stories that are often short, but always sweet: Catching eels as a boy for the family table or skating miles down an ice-covered river to town; Helping a congressman’s girlfriend claim the most fish on a sunny day at Jackson Hole; Leading the annual August gathering of U.S. statesmen at Old Yellowstone’s south gate where the Lewis River joins the Snake; Relaxing at Camp David with the President and family, true friends, or Being driven off the river by an ornery bison. It’s a Great Read

PA Woods and Wilds

The Chapter will have a table at this event. If you are free, come out and help staff the table and let others know what we do for the streams in our area.

General public and families are invited to the Lycoming County Fairgrounds to explore, buy, and learn, as the East Lycoming Education Foundation celebrates our PA Woods and Wilds. There will be make-and-take experiences for kids from many varied exhibits including paintings, baskets, flora, woodworking, and more.

Forest enthusiasts, naturalists, growers and gardeners, artisans, and craftspeople are all invited to come and join the celebration to present your ideas, sell PA hand-mades, and share your knowledge on all the opportunities of our PA Woods & Wilds resources.

Among the planned activities include: Fly-fishing lessons (2 one-hour slots are offered) from the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission for all ages, demonstrations of our drones in education (funded for the East Lycoming School District by the Foundation), learn about growing many varieties of plants and other wilderness excursions, and much more!

Food trucks on site will offer a variety of lunch and dinner options.

Non-native fish, chronic wasting disease, game bird habitat loss are affecting hunting and fishing in the state.
