“In 1974, Bob Rinn had an idea. His idea was to write and publish a newsletter for all members of the Susquehanna Chapter of Trout Unlimited to stay informed of the groups events and activities. Inspiration for the newsletter came from “Pools and Ripples,” a delightful assemblage of fishing essays by Bliss Perry, reprinted in 1936. Every thoughtful fly fisher should read his views. Bob appreciated Perry’s idea about living many years, “If the rod and reel are working well, and the fly book is wisely filled, and the sky a bit overcast, and there is just enough ripple on the water, your life extension institute is already functioning.”
The Susquehanna Ripples is the official newsletter of the Susquehanna Chapter of Trout Unlimited. It is published 8 times a year: January, February, March, April, June/July, September, October, and November. Please consider submitting something of interest to our readers; a story, stream report, recipe, photograph, gear review, etc., and your submission has to be fishing related. Submissions received will be placed in the next available issue. All submissions can be sent to susquehannatu@gmail.com.
The Susquehanna Ripples is now digital. As such we are no longer regularly mailing out printed copies unless you subscribe. A copy will always be placed on our Chapter website and social media sites and will be emailed to those of you on our mailing list. If you wish to receive the Susquehanna Ripples by email, please send an email to susquehannatu@gmail.com with your name and an email address and subscribe in the subject line. If you wish to receive a printed copy, the subscription rate is $10 for a minimum of 8 copies.
