The public is invited to a meeting of the Trout Unlimited Susquehanna Chapter featuring a program about Slate Run area conservation clubs, presented by John Pastorek.  John will provide an overview of the Slate Run Brown Trout Club (BTC) and the famous “Stretch” on Pine Creek, including its genesis, the current fishing opportunities and thoughts about the future.  He also will explore the backgrounds of the different trout stocked by the PA Fish & Boat Commission and the BTC.  John will also touch on the conservation efforts of the Slate Run Sportsmen’s Club.

John’s outdoor experience includes decades of fly fishing, fly tying, backpacking, hiking and other pursuits.  John’s creative talents include painting and writing.  He currently serves as editor of the Slate Run Tackle Shop’s monthly e-newsletter, as well as for the Slate Run Sportsmen’s Slate Drake newsletter.  Professionally, John has served in executive management in the social service, higher education, and hospital / healthcare sectors for many years.  While John lives in western, PA, he and his wife, along with their Australian Shepherd dog, frequent their cabin in the Slate Run Area.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 10th at 7:00 pm at the Covenant Central Presbyterian Church, 807 W. 4th Street, in Williamsport.  Parking and entrance to the Church is at the rear of the building with access off of Campbell Street.
